Forests, Rivers, Mushrooms and Caves: Grevena

Upon your arrival in Greece, you will be picked up from the Airport of Thessaloniki or Athens. Thessaloniki is 2 hours away while Athens is almost 6 hours. We will arrive at Grevena area with the vast forests, waterways, and fine local products, it is no wonder that the region has become a hotspot for special & simple travellers, despite its out-of-the-way location.

The city of Grevena, is one of the smallest cathedral towns in Greece,  placed around the Grevenitis River. The surrounding Orliakas Mountain, is covered with pine and fir trees, as well as robola vines. Trekking paths and activities are virtually endless, as we can combine 4x4 off road driving through canyons and forests at any time of the day, continue with hiking and mushroom hunting with our Guides who are certified and well known in Europe about their knowledge!  And as all this trekking may bring an appetite, Grevena is up to the occasion: with more than 1,300 mushroom species growing in the area, Grevena is the official mushroom capital of Greece. Upon your request, we can prepare your meal or dinner...from hunt such as Pheasants, Deer or Boar!
